2012 Summer Youth Mural Project

A mural was created this summer by art day campers at Seminary Art Center. 3rd - 8th grades participated in a mural design camp and mural painting camp. The mural is about the history of Waterbury, sense of place and community oriented. Students in this class participated in group decision making as they discussed what the imagery would be for the painting. They talked about Waterbury, community, and looked into history and architecture.

The mural was created as public art for the town of Waterbury. Our final product is installed down town for all to see and enjoy. The project was sponsored by Seminary Art Center, Waterbury Activities and Cultural Center, Ben & Jerry's Foundation, Northfield Savings Bank, and Vermont Signs & Graphics. Full Scholarships were extended to the participants. The unveiling will be Saturday November 10th at 3pm. The installation location is at Anderson Fields off Intervale Ave, behind the town pool in Waterbury.
